About Gary

I first became involved in politics through Local Government during 1992 when I was elected as a councillor for the Rural City of Warragul, again serving as a Councillor in 2002 as part of the Baw Baw Shire Council.

Following my role as a Councillor for the Baw Baw Shire, I was elected to the seat of Narracan in the Legislative Assembly in 2006.

My record of community service extends also to the Warragul Hospital where I served as a board member for nine years. In 2007 I was humbled to be appointed a Life Governor of the West Gippsland Healthcare Group.

In 2009 I was also appointed Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Health Services. Following the 2010 Victorian Election, and the election of the Baillieu Government to office, I was appointed the Parliamentary Secretary for Forestry and Fisheries.

I believe that education, health, small business and community development are essential to ensure that our region can continue to grow strongly into the future as it has done in the past.

As Member for Narracan, I have worked on local issues that are affecting individuals, families and businesses alike. Transport, education, healthcare and small business support are only a few of the key areas on which I have consistently sought support for in the Narracan region.

I am always interested in feedback from individuals and groups, and encourage members of my community, young and experienced alike to provide feedback through my office, email or via my website to ensure I am able to represent the values of all in Narracan to the best of my ability.

My office is always available to take feedback, and for you to meet in person with me.
